Publikace se snaží souhrnným způsobem čtenáři přiblížit poměrně široký rozsah problematiky zbraní hromadného ničení se zaměřením na jaderné, radiologické a chemické zbraně a radiační a chemické havárie. Problematika každé dílčí části je natolik rozsáhlá, že by sama o sobě vydala na desítky, možná i stovky knih a lze tedy vyzdvihnout schopnost autorů shrnout nejdůležitější informace z každé části do jednoho celku.
